Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos, under the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a commercial taxi driver, Adedayo Ben Adegbola, for alleged serial rape, assault, and armed robbery targeting female passengers.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abímbólá Adebisi, the suspect’s vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT, was recovered and secured as an exhibit.

The suspect was apprehended on October 31 for alleged serial crimes after his picture went viral on social media, with different complaints coming from affected victims.

His arrest followed an intensive investigation ordered by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohuntare Jimoh.

According to the police, Adegbola is currently in their custody pending further investigations to apprehend other suspected accomplices, while victims are encouraged to come forward to aid the investigation process, with guarantees of protection for their identities.

The Command assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice for survivors and maintaining security in the state. The CP, Jimoh, added that further updates on the investigation will be provided in due course.
