Just In: Skitmaker, Trinity Guy Sent To Prison Over Dangerous Prank

A Magistrate Court in Ibadan, Oyo state has ordered the remand of skit maker, Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, in prison over allegations of sexualising a minor in his viral skit video.

Recall that the Nigerian Police, through Force Public Relation Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called for the arrest of Trinityguy following a viral video of his dangerous pranks.

A statement by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday, disclosed that the skit maker and parent of the little girl in viral video were quizzed by the Command and would appear in court Monday.

Oludare Adebayo, counsel to the defendant who was brought before the magistrate by the Police, urged the court to grant his client bail.

Magistrate PO Adetuyibi, while denying the bail application, stated that the allegations against the Skit maker is currently receiving attention of the state Ministry of Justice.

The court also ordered that the parents of the little girl in the video be remanded alongside Trinity Guy till next sitting.

The Magistrate therefore adjourned till July 11.

Breaking: Helicopter Carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Crashes

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has been involved in an incident while he was visiting neighboring Azerbaijan, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on X on Sunday.

“Some of the president’s companions on this helicopter were able to communicate with Central Headquarters, raising hopes that the incident could have ended without casualties,” it added. It is unclear what the exact status is of Raisi’s helicopter.

The helicopter was part of a convoy of three helicopters. Two of those helicopters were carrying ministers and officials who arrived at their destination safely, according to Tasnim.

“Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, Tabriz’s Friday Prayer Imam, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were also reportedly on the helicopter with the president,” Tasnim said on X.

Tragedy As Truck Rams Into BRT Bus on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A truck has rammed into a Lagos State BRT bus at Ibafo bus-stop along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway.

Newsmen who went to the scene gathered that the accident occurred around some minutes to 6am on Saturday.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and Police on response call at the accident scene insisted that only their Public Relations Officers were authorised to speak.

 

Injured cows by the rammed BRT

However, unconfirmed reports from onlookers noted that several people on the BRT bus were injured.

Onlookers accounts noted that the BRT was parked loading its passengers at the bus stop before the truck loaded with cows heading to Lagos rammed into it, taking it off the road to destroy shops and kiosks by the roadside.

The cow truck had been towed a little away from the scene so as not to hinder traffic.

Just In: Fire Guts NNPCL Apapa Tank Farm

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL Tank Farm at Kayode Street, Marine Beach, in the Apapa area of Lagos was on Friday was gutted by fire.

According to an eyewitness, Mr Tunde Are, the raging fire started at about 11:00 am. He said people ran helter-skelter to contain the fire before a rescue team arrived.

The rescue team, led by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, were still battling to put off the raging fire as of the time of filing this report.

The inferno, it was gathered, resulted from a spillage of petroleum products within the perimeter of the terminal.

A statement issued by the Director/CEO of the state fire service, Margaret Adeseye, around 1 pm on Friday said the “fire resulted from a spillage of petroleum products within the perimeter of the tank farm as concerted efforts with various emergency responders within the oil and gas industry to contain the situation”.

“The public is hereby assured that the emergency operation is under control from escalating further. Update to follow,” she added.
