Anambra Election: Soludo Reacts To Victory Says ‘It’s The Will Of God’

Prof. Charles Soludo, Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has reacted to his victory at the poll.

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), described his victory at the Anambra State governorship election as the will of God.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday declared Soludo winner of the Anambra election after winning 19 out of 21 local governments in the State.

Soludo who contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) secured 112, 229 votes, twice more than his closest rival – PDP’s Ozigbo who polled 53,807 votes.

The other two frontline contenders – Uba and Ubah scored 43,285 and 21,261 votes respectively.

In his acceptance speech few minutes after he was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, early Wednesday, Soludo said he would be the chief servant of all Anambra people.

He said he accepted the outcome of the election and his emergency as governor-elect of Anambra State.

“Let me say that with utmost humility and gratitude to God, I accept the result of the 2021 Anambra governorship election, as declared by INEC.

“And this victory reflects the supreme will of the Almighty God and the overwhelming sacred mandate of the people,” Soludo said.

“I accept the outcome of the election. To God be the glory. We are humbled by massive support of Nigerians and the whole country.

“I will work hard everyday and I will never disappoint you,” he said, while Commiserate with those who died in the course of the poll.

Soludo said the election was most peaceful and congratulated those who contest the election with him.

“We are one, I extend hand of fellowship to you, let us come together to build Anambra. Let us keep the spirit of Anambra flying.

“My role will be that of a chief servant, I will work everyday with you. I will work in collaboration with other states and the Federal Government,” he said.
