Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants Afrobeats sensation Asake to perform at his wedding, specifically singing the hit song “Remember”.

This desire was shared during their joint appearance on an Apple Music radio show with DJ Tunez.

During the show, Wizkid expressed his admiration for Asake’s music, calling him a “blessing to African music” and praising his “special voice”. He singled out the song “Remember” as his favorite and a mandatory track for his future nuptials.

According to the Starboy boss, Asake’s breakout hit ‘Omo Ope’ instantly made him a fan, but the song he considers his personal favourite is ‘Remember’. He added that he would love to have Asake perform the track on his wedding day.

Wizkid praised Asake’s artistry, describing him as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and beyond, noting that his voice and creativity continue to elevate African music globally.

He said:

“‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’. I think you have to play that one on my wedding day — it is an amazing record.

You [Asake] are amazing. You have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I’m saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Jada P, with whom he shares three children — two boys and a girl.
