Former Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 4th Republic, Ghali Umar Na’abba is dead. Na’Abba died in Abuja Wednesday morning at the age of 65 after battling an illness.
Ghali Na’abba, from Kano State, was elected member of the House of Representatives in 1999.
He succeeded ousted Speaker Salisu Buhari, who was removed as Speaker of House of Representatives in the wake of the Fourth Republic, following his Toronto certificate Scandal exposed by TheNEWS Magazine.
Details of his demise remain sketchy as at the time of filling this report.
Na’Abba was born into the family of Umar Na’Abba, a businessman in Tudun Wada, Kano City, on 27 September 1958 and was a graduate of Political Science from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He recently dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, and joined the main opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP.
