The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and his immediate predecessor Nyesom Wike on Tuesday, met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The two were seen shaking hands upon meeting.
The visit is coming amid impeachment proceedings launched against Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday.
Both personalities were attracted to the Villa for the National Police Council meeting currently being presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
It is not clear whether the meeting which has several governors in attendance will find a way of mending the estranged relationship between Governor Fubara, and his predecessor, Wike.
Recall that the Rivers State Assembly complex was on Sunday night set ablaze by some elements following plots to impeach the governor.
The fire incident, however, did not stop the impeachment move, as 24 out of the 32 members of the state assembly signed the document for Fubara’s impeachment.
Fubaran also alleged that he was attacked by some security operatives on Monday while on his way to the scene of the incident.
Wike, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja and the governor were sighted exchanging pleasantries at the States House on Tuesday.
