President Muhamadu Buhari has sacked the Sole Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa.
It was gathered that no reason was given for the removal of the NDDC boss, who was appointed in October.
The NDDC Boss was sacked by the President on Thursday, October 2022 in a letter signed by the Director of Press, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Patricia Deworitshe.
It was learnt that President Buhari also announced the constitution of a new management team and Governing Board of the NDDC.
According to the statement, the Board nominees will be announced later.
A letter titled: “NDDC SOLE ADMINISTRATOR RELIEVED OF APPOINTMENT” dated October 20, 2022, and obtained by JomogNews Nigeria, says the NDDC Boss Effiong Akwa has been relieved of his post with immediate effect.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the disengagement of the interim administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, from his post with effect from today, 20 October 2022,” the letter signed by the Director of Press, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Patricia Deworitshe, read in part.
The letter confirmed that President Buhari also announced the constitution of a new management team and Governing Board of the NDDC. According to the statement, the Board nominees will be announced later.
