Attahiru and 10 other military officers died in an air crash near the Kaduna international airport on Friday.

The first lady made the visit Sunday afternoon to commiserate with the families of the late COAS.

Their remains were buried at the national military cemetery in the federal capital territory (FCT) on Saturday.

The first lady shared photos of her visit to the army chief’s residence in a tweet on Sunday evening, saying the death of Attahiru and other officers is a monumental loss to the nation.

“I paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru. The death of the late Chief of Army Staff and the other military officers aboard the ill-fated aircraft is a monumental loss to their families and the Nation at large,” the tweet reads.
