Through his Instagram story, the Afrobeat artist expresses remorse for their investment of hard-earned money to attend the event.

Davido reveals that he originally had no intention of attending the concert and had already communicated this to the organizers beforehand. However, they continued to promote the show using his name.

Labeling the situation as disgraceful, he pledges to bring his Timeless performance to Delta State, promising a proper, grander, and better experience.

“To my beloved fans in Warri who expended their hard-earned money to attend. I apologize for your disappointment. I had communicated my unavailability to the organizers longgggg ago, I mean MONTHS ago. But, for reasons known only to them, they persisted in promoting the show using my name. It’s a shame. But, especially for my dedicated fans out there, don’t worry, I’m determined to bring Timeless to Delta State. We will execute it flawlessly, on a larger scale, and with more excellence.”

Davido apologises to his Warri fans

On Saturday, the former president of the Nigerian Football Federation publicly criticized Davido for breaching their contract.

The NFF President expressed his displeasure regarding Davido’s absence from the event, which took place on October 6th, despite being paid a substantial sum of money.

According to the president, he paid the singer $94,000 and covered the cost of a plane ticket amounting to $18,000, yet Davido failed to show up, causing significant disappointment in Warri.

The president also accused Davido of having an inflated ego, comparing him unfavorably to his rival, Burna Boy, whom he regarded as superior.

Responding to these allegations, Davido announced his plans to headline a concert in Warri in December, assertively challenging anyone who would dare to stop him.

In another post, he mentioned his intention to donate money to the NFF, acknowledging their difficulties.

In a previous statement, he asserted that no one possesses the power to prevent him from performing anywhere, displaying his commitment to still gracing the stage in Warri.

However, he also hinted at the possibility of undisclosed complexities in their agreement, suggesting that not all the intricate details would be revealed.
