JomogNews Nigeria learnt the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) personnel and driver were attacked on their way to Ihiala yesterday night.
This online medium gathered that INEC driver was shot by these unknown gunmen and he’s currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed clinic in Anambra State whilst other staff of INEC in the vehicle sustained varying degrees of injuries after they were beaten to stupor.
According to Arise TV, INEC Commissioner for Voter Education And Publicity, Dr. Festus Okoye has confirmed the incident.
JomogNews recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed today for a supplementary election after declaring the November 6 exercise inconclusive.
The election did not hold on first ballot because in Ihiala, which has a total of 148,407 registered voters, not a single ballot was cast.
