A New Era for Ekiti as Oyebanji Shatters the State’s Succession Jinx

Three years ago, Obasanjo’s son, Olajuwon and Adebutu’s daughter, Temitope, tied the knot in a very elaborate classy wedding.
Olajuwon’s mother was against their marriage as she even went to court to stop the wedding.
Temitope, a Magistrate in Ogun State judiciary accused Olajuwon of being mentally unstable, while the Olajuwon accused her of beating him.
Few months later, the couple ended their marriage with insults on the social media and on pages of newspapers.
But during an event recently in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Obasanjo told Adebutu that whatever happened between their children should not affect their longtime relationship.
Obasanjo’s comment was the first in two years after the marriage crumbled.
It was during the conferment of first honorary member on Adebutu at the 45th President’s party of Abeokuta Sports Club.
The former President said their children got married of their own volition, saying he and his friend should not be made to pay for the consequence of the broken marriage.
“You know not too long ago, my son and Odole’s daughter, on their own, decided to get married. But what happened to their marriage is between them, not between us.” Obasanjo said.
