Fresh security concerns are mounting in Nigeria after a shocking video emerged showing armed bandits boasting with heaps of ransom money.
The clip was posted to X on Saturday by North-West conflict reporter Bakatsine. “This video shows bandits flaunting money obtained through ransom payments,” Bakatsine stated, adding a prayer for an end to the national tragedy and for lasting peace.
JomogNews Nigeria reports that kidnapping for ransom has become one of Nigeria’s most pressing security challenges, particularly in the North-West and parts of the North-Central, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted communities, travellers, schools and farmers.
Despite sustained military operations against criminal gangs, attacks and abductions continue to be reported across several states.
