Member of Anambra Assembly, Hon Justice Azuka, kidnapped since the eve of 2024 Christmas by gunmen in Onitsha, has been found dead.
His decomposing body was found along the second Niger Bridge in Onitsha on Wednesday night by the combined security team despatched from Abuja.
Azuka represented Onitsha North 1 constituency.
It was gathered some of those who masterminded his kidnap have been arrested by the security team from Abuja
Anambra Police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development
He said the decomposing body of the lawmaker was discovered by the combined security team, comprising Police, Vigilance group among others
However, he didn’t confirm arrest of the suspects, adding that investigation was on ongoing while security operatives have taken over the area
The lawmaker was on his way to celebrate Christmas with family when the hoodlums abducted him along Ugwunabamkpa Road, Inland town Onitsha.
Others kidnapped with him who are yet to be seen include Ben Ezemma, popularly known as ‘big Ben’ and Obiora Agbasimelo, the governorship candidate of Labour Party in 2021
