The collapse occurred on Ekhator Street in Ekosodin, an area known for accommodating many university students.

The Dean of Students is coordinating efforts, while the university management has yet to provide an official statement on the incident.

Reports indicate that numerous students became trapped in the rubble, prompting immediate rescue efforts from local authorities and a university rescue team.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that while some individuals were successfully extricated from the debris, several others sustained serious injuries and were quickly transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

One student, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared that rescuers are actively searching for another victim still trapped within the wreckage.

The trapped individual reportedly made a desperate call for help from beneath the collapsed structure, highlighting the urgency of the ongoing rescue operations.

The Dean of Students from UNIBEN is present at the scene, coordinating the rescue efforts alongside university personnel.

As of now, the university management has not released an official statement regarding the cause of the building’s collapse or the total number of individuals affected by this unfortunate event.

The situation remains critical, with rescue teams working tirelessly to ensure the safety of those still unaccounted for.
