The horrifying incident occurred on the night of January 18, 2024, when armed bandits invaded Sufyan’s residence.

Reports indicate that the assailants shot Idris Abu Sufyan before forcibly taking away his wife and baby to an undisclosed location.

The news of this grim event has left the community in mourning, as colleagues and friends express their sorrow and pay tribute to the dedicated educator.

A fellow colleague shared the sad news on Friday, saying, “Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un. I feel sad to inform you that our noble colleague; the principal of GSS KURIGA (SNR).MAL IDRIS ABU SUFYAN, has been killed by bandits and also kidnapped his wife with a baby boy. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and also grant him Aljannatul firdausi. Amen.”

Manajer Deeni, who also confirmed the incident on Facebook, highlighted that Idris Abu Sufyan had an opportunity to leave the village due to frequent bandit attacks.

Despite the dangers, Sufyan chose to remain with his people. Deeni expressed, “Allah sarki Abusufyan Idrees had the opportunity to leave Kuriga village at once, but he chose to stay with his people.

When he was alive, he was the village GSS principal, teaching the village youth football. He had the chance to move to town, but even after tense attacks of armed bandits in his community, he chose to stay.”

Deeni continued, recounting Sufyan’s dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of the village’s youth and putting the community on the map.

Tragically, Sufyan paid the ultimate price for his commitment, as armed bandits invaded his home, taking his life and kidnapping his wife. In closing, Deeni paid his respects, saying, “R.I.P Abusufyan.”

The entire community is left grappling with the loss of a noble individual who sacrificed personal safety for the well-being of his community.
