At least 10 bulldozers have been deployed in the Rivers State House of Assembly complex to demolish the buildings including the bombed hallowed chamber.
The bulldozers were said to have arrived early in the morning on Wednesday and started the demolition of the complex from the burnt chamber and the conference hall, where the House has been using for its sitting.
Security agencies at the scene reportedly cordoned off the area and prevented people from taking pictures of the ongoing demolition.
The demolition of the complex has further deepened the prolonged crisis between the House of Assembly and the State Governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, which started with an impeachment threat on the governor.
The governor was said to have ordered the demolition to allow for the renovation of the complex.
