Fasoranti, Falae, Others Intervene In Akeredolu, Aiyedatiwa’s Feud
Leader of pan Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Pa Reuben Fasoranti and other elders in Ondo State have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the feud between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Ondo elders urged President Tinubu to end “the current constitutional crisis in the state, to avoid the looming breakdown of law and order.”
This was contained in a statement issued after an emergency meeting held in Akure at the instance of Pa Fasoranti on the current political logjam in the state.
Present at the meeting were traditional, religious and professional leaders, market women, the academia and other notable stakeholders.
The statement said the meeting, which lasted for over four hours, called for prayers for the improved health of Governor Akeredolu and noted that his absence had caused lack of sustained good governance in the state.
The statement said: “There should be no impeachment of the governor or the deputy governor by the House of Assembly. All unelected persons should allow the three arms of government find lasting solution to the current crisis.
“The rule of law should be followed by stakeholders as enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution.
“The elders also call on the state/national leadership of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to provide the required guide to those in government as well as ensure discipline among their fold.
“Reconciliation efforts initiated by Papa Reuben Fasoranti, Oba Olu Falae, Basorun Seinde Arogbofa, Chiefs Femi Aluko, Korede Duyile and Professor Olu Aderounmu, that were started two months ago and being continuously vigorously pursued by elders/leaders, spiritual and royal fathers in the state, should be concluded with a view to allowing true rapprochement and enduring good governance thrive in the state.”

Just In: APC Suspends Ex-Osun Governor, Aregbesola
The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of former Interior Minister and ex-Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, citing alleged anti-party activities.
The party accuses Aregbesola of fostering division within the APC by establishing a splinter faction, undermining party unity in the state.
In a formal resolution submitted to APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, the Osun chapter explained, “Aregbesola’s actions have fueled internal divisions,” threatening cohesion during a crucial phase in the party’s activities.
According to the statement, his behaviour was deemed detrimental to the party’s stability, especially with local political stakes high.
The suspension marks a significant rift in the APC’s ranks, with Aregbesola’s faction yet to respond to these allegations.
The Osun APC’s decision reflects mounting tensions within the party and a bid to preserve organisational unity amid ongoing political dynamics in the state.

Ondo 2024: APC, Ganduje Will Be Shocked By Ondo Election – Makinde
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, will be shocked by the outcome of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
Makinde also said the ruling party will experience defeats in subsequent elections in the Southwest geopolitical zone.
While stressing that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will defeat the ruling party, Makinde, who is the leader of the PDP in the South West, emphasised that APC had become the nemesis of Nigerians.
The national chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, stated a few days ago in Akure, the Ondo State capital, that the South West states would soon be captured by APC after winning the Ondo election.
Similarly, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa claimed on Wednesday that PDP was dead in the state.
Leading the campaign train of PDP to the Akoko axis of Ondo State, the Oyo governor boasted that PDP is still vibrant in Ondo State.
According to him, PDP is determined to be victorious in the governorship election. He stressed that both Ganduje and Aiyedatiwa would be shocked by the outcome of the forthcoming governorship poll.
“If wishes were horses, everybody would be riding them. I can tell you that the people of the South West of Nigeria are wiser, especially in Ondo State, where we are here (Akoko area).
“You can see the crowd; look at the enthusiasm. On November 16th, they will tell him (Ganduje) that Ondo State and indeed Southwest are for the PDP. Well, talk, they say is cheap. You can say whatever you like with your mouth.
“The people of Ondo State will speak loud and clear on the 16th of November 2024, and then all of us in this country will hear it loud and clear.”
