Lagos State Police Command had declared him wanted on Wednesday for allegedly refusing to honour police invitation over the circumstances that led to the death of former Marlian records’ signee.

Before turning himself in on Wednesday, Primeboy told TVC, that he was never invited by the police and that he sought to attend the police station to clear his reputation when people were branding him with the death of his late buddy.

He said: “I have never received a message of invitation from the police, it is a big lie that I did. Before this issue of declaring me wanted sprang up, I had wanted to explain myself at the station after people started accusing me of killing Mohbad.

“The people I reached out to including my lawyer advised that I should wait for a police invitation rather than going there to explain myself. So it was a shock to see that the police had declared me wanted for N1 million to anyone who knew my whereabouts.”

When asked whether he was with Mohbad on his last show and if they had a scuffle, Primeboy stated that they did have difficulties, but it was due to a misunderstanding he had with his wife when in the car with them on the day he travelled to Ikorodu.

He said: “He (Mohbad) was trying to alight from the car when the issue between him and his wife heated up. But I stopped him, advising that it wasn’t safe for him to do so since Zlatan was still performing. He then told me to come down from the car. And I did.

“I could tell that he was badly hurt from the way he was reacting that day.

The musician turned himself in to the police today, and his currently in Police custody for questioning.
