A tricycle operator, simply identified as Chigozie, has been arrested for killing his girlfriend and dumping her corpse inside a bush in Umuahia, Abia State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday and was brought to light by vigilant villagers who caught Chigozie, who is a resident of Ajata Ibeku in the act.
It was alleged that an altercation ensued between Chigozie and his girlfriend, when the girl slipped and hit her head on the floor and died.
Another villager also claimed that Chigozie was having a “marathon sex” with his girlfriend during which the girl died.
According to the villager who identified himself as Nze, the suspect was caught by some youths of the community after he had finished dumping the lifeless body of his dead girlfriend in the dustbin and attempted to escape.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been handed over to the Police for investigation, while the corpse of the dead girlfriend has been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Chioma Maureen Chinaka is yet to react to the development as of the time of this report.
