The presidency on Wednesday night said President Bola Tinubu suspended the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, AbdulRasheed Bawa, over weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.
The information was made known by the Director, of Information, SGF office, Willie Bassey, who disclosed that the suspension is indefinite.
Bawa was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission.
In a terse statement issued on Wednesday, he said, “Mr Bawa has been directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.”
