The National Director said he would only support Obi if he is the best candidate in the 2023 election. The NEF spokesman stated this while speaking with Channels Television.

According to Baba-Ahmed: “I can only root for Obi and my younger brother Datti if they are the best candidates. “You know I’m working on a project with Northern Elders Forum, which gives all the candidates a level playing ground.” Baba-Ahmed also stressed that a lot of Nigerians might be disenfranchised due to insecurity.

He noted that insecurity might prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from deploying materials for the election. “There is a huge problem that must be tackled decisively. If you look at the South East, IPOB, unknown gunmen, whatever are targeting people and moving freely.

People are being prevented from voting because some people are burning INEC facilities,” he added.

Atiku Discloses How He Would Make Appointments If Elected Into Power Ahead of the 2023 general election, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has vowed to make appointments into his cabinet strictly based on merit and federal character if he wins the presidential polls.

Naija News reports that the PDP presidential candidate stated that his administration will not be accused of nepotism in feeling key positions, unlike the current All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of President Muhammadu Buhari that has been enmeshed in such controversy.

Atiku told ThisDay that his government would ensure that all geographical zones were equally represented in appointments into his cabinet.

Atiku explained, “In making all appointments, and not just in appointing security chiefs, I mean all appointments across the board, only merit, balanced with federal character, will be my government’s criteria. I make a bold promise, which every Nigerian citizen at home and abroad can hold me to: we will carry every geopolitical zone along.”

Atiku assured Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, region, and religion, that the entire nation would be his constituency. “At the barest minimum, they can expect their security of life and property, as well as their economic situation to improve under the administration that we will form in 2023, God willing,” he added.
