2023: Tinubu Denies Meeting Wike In France But Says His Doors Are Open

Published

on

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has said there was no meeting between him and the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, in France.

Tinubu had recently flown to the European nation to continue high-level engagements with stakeholders.

However, a chieftain of the APC in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, claimed there was a meeting between the duo.

On Friday night, the Tinubu Media Office in a statement signed by Tunde Rahman said although the APC flag bearer holds Wike in high esteem, such a meeting never took place.

Part of the statement reads: “We have seen a viral social media post made by one of the chieftains of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State and media reports emanating from same about a supposed meeting in France between APC Presidential Standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

“It has become imperative to set the record straight. Although Asiwaju Tinubu is presently in France, he didn’t have any meeting with Governor Wike whether in that country or anywhere whatsoever.

“This, however, does not detract from the fact that the APC presidential candidate holds Governor Wike in high esteem.

“And given the national and across-party lines appeal of Asiwaju Tinubu’s candidature, he will not hesitate to meet any important national leader when desirable.

“As made public earlier, Asiwaju Tinubu is in France for some important engagements. He will return to the country shortly.

“We would like, once again, to advise journalists to always cross-check their information with appropriate officers before rushing to press to avoid unintended errors.”

Everything About You Bundle Of Lies – Bode George Attacks Tinubu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has described the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as a “bundle of lies.”

George said everything Tinubu attributed to himself was a “bundle of lies”.

He said Tinubu did nothing to alleviate the pains of residents of Lagos State despite serving as a governor for two terms.

Speaking with Channels Television last night, George said: “I absolutely have no qualms, no quarrel with Tinubu, but all I know is that everything he has said he was or his name is this or his school is that it’s a bundle of lies.

“I’m a bonafide Lagosian, we knew what Lagos was like, and Lagos remains the commercial nerve centre, not only in Nigeria but in the whole of West Africa. What has this fellow done to us?”

The PDP chieftain charged Tinubu to open up on the ownership of Alpa Beta company.

He said the APC presidential candidate should tell Nigerians how much the company has allegedly stolen from the Lagos State Government.

“I have asked a very simple question and none of them has been able to answer it: who owns the Alpha Beta company? How much has the Alpha Beta company stolen from the coffers of our treasury in Lagos state?

“What has he done to alleviate the pains of the people of the state?” he asked.

According to Ortom: “At the end, the solution to the challenges of Nigeria is what matters. Where we are today calls for all hands to be on deck.
