A youth leader in the community, Jamil Kerawa, confirmed the incident, saying the bandits operated unchallenged.

“They abducted 12 people two male and 10 women after killing one person. One other was injured and rushed to hospital in Zaria. We need help in Kerawa because only God is protecting us,” he said.

He appealed to the State Government to deploy security personnel in the area, lamenting the increase in attacks.

We also gathered that surrounding villages like Hayin Dam, Rago, Unguwar Salahu and Zariyawa were also displaced by bandits recently.

Another resident simply identified as Jafaru said his biological brother and his uncle son were among those abducted.

He said the whole community was in confusion.

No official reaction from the state government and Police but the spokesman of the State Police Command has promised to comment after getting details.
