The Yoruba Leaders’ Forum (YLF) has appealed to all Yoruba leaders who are aggrieved over the contents of “My Participation”, a book authored by the former Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Bisi Akande, to sheate their swords and focus on how to make the Yoruba nation a better place.

In a statement signed by Barr. George Olufemi Ogunjimi, convener of the YLF, the group advised the aggrieved leaders to shun distractions that may affect collective progress and development of the Yoruba nation.

Chief Bisi Akande’s book, “My Participation”, had brought some Yoruba leaders at daggers drawn with critics describing the book as a plan to “deodorize” the APC leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of his presidential ambition for 2023. “Every political enemy of Tinubu was a villain in the book, from Chiefs Ayo Adebanjo, Olu Falae to Sir Olaniwun Ajayi.”

The Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo described the book as a diversion to get Nigerians talking about unimportant things. He said Nigerians should rather be interested in the insecurity wracking the country and other matters like changing the constitution and putting the nation back on track.

In the statement, the YLF offered to mediate in the squabble caused by the book’s release in London — a neutral ground. The Forum urged the leaders to stay focused, especially at this time when the nation needs all hands on deck to steer it’s ship to a glorious destination.
