Senior lawyers in the country under the umbrella of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) have taken their anger on the invasion of the Abuja residence of Justice Mary Odili to the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami seeking justice in the matter.
They demanded an immediate probe of last Friday’s siege on the house and the perpetrators to be brought to book.
Members of the group, including Adegboyega Awomolo, Professor Yemi Akinseye-George, Jibrin Okutepa, warned that the ugly development threatens judicial independence and the nation’s democracy.
Awomolo told journalists, after the meeting with the AGF that the group also plans to meet with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on the issues.
Dr. Umar Gwandu, the media aide to the AGF said Malami denied the involvement of his office in the incident and that he has written relevant security agencies to investigate the development.
