JomogNews Nigeria reports that Iluju is one of the communities in Ogbomoso geo-political zone of the State.

This online news medium also gathered that the Iluju Community Secondary School was affected by the development.

The bridge was damaged by heavy downpour witnessed in the community on Sunday.

This then prevented the people of the community from going out for social or economic activities on Monday.

Our correspondent also learnt that scores of commuters, business owners and farmers who were going to the community on Monday were stranded as a result of the collapsed bridge.

It was gathered that it prevented SSS3 students of Community Secondary School, Iluju who are currently sitting for the WAEC examination from gaining access into their school.

The lawmaker representing Oriire State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Jacob Abidoye Bamigboye visited the collapsed bridge on Monday.

Bamigboye appealed to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to urgently help fix the road.

”This is really a sad development. The road is the only link connecting Iluju Community to all other communities.

“We are grateful that no life was lost in the collapsed bridge.

“This is why I decided to inspect the damaged bridge and appeal to our amiable Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to help direct relevant ministry or agency to commence the reconstruction of the bridge,” he said.
