Nigerian Governors, Deputies To Receive COVID-19 Vaccine Next Week

Nigerian Governors and their deputies will take the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, March 10.

This was disclosed by Kayode Fayemi, Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Ekiti Governor, on Thursday.

Fayemi addressed the media after governors’ emergency virtual meeting.

The governor also urged Nigerians to take the vaccine, assuring it was safe for persons up to 18 years.

Boss Mustapha, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, briefed governors on the 3.92m doses of the vaccine received by Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, top government officials and frontline health workers would be the first to receive the vaccine from March 6.
