Chief Ale’s wife was abducted by hoodlums at Owena area along Akure- Ondo expressway on her way back to Akure from Lagos on Thursday night, Jomog News Nigeria reports.

Her release was made possible by the personnel of the Amotekun corps in the state.

She was released after about two days in the kidnappers’ den.

A source said the woman was released on Saturday morning after the hunters and other security agencies got to the location where the kidnappers kept their victims.

The source said some suspects have been arrested in relation to the kidnapping.

According to the source: “I can confirm to you that the wife of the Chief of Staff has secured her freedom and on her way to Akure. She was released without paying the ransom as she was rescued by Amotekun and local hunters.”
Commandant of the Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who confirmed the release of Mrs. Ale, said it was too early to disclose how the rescue operation was carried out.

It is yet to be known if a ransom was paid before her release.

But the Ondo State Police Command only confirmed that she had been “rescued.”

Meanwhile, the Police spokesperson, Tee Leo-Ikoro, said on Saturday that she was rescued by the police.

He, however, refused to give details of her release from the hands of the kidnappers.

“She has been rescued,” he said. “That is the most important thing. I can’t tell you anything more than that.”

The wave of kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state had been on the rise leading to the adoption of some stringent measures by the state government.
