Woman cried out as AMAC Officials carried out demolition exercise while people were inside a shopping mall in Abuja (video).
Jomog News Nigeria reports that a video has emerged showing officials of Abuja Municipality Area Council (AMAC) attempting to demolish a shopping complex located at Ben Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, with dozens of people and goods worth millions of Naira still in it.
One of the shop owners who was heard crying out in the video, alleged that the demolition exercise was carried out while people were inside the building.
She also alleged that the officials behind the demolition carried it out while shops were open and never informed those upstairs about it. It was alleged that the demolition order “came from above”.
According to her, the AMAC officials did not inform the shop owners who were going about their daily business upstairs before they started demolishing the building downstairs, putting their lives at risk.
It took the intervention of a man who intervened and stood in front of the building.
