It wasn’t a funny situation on Lagos Island yesterday as motorists were forced to sleep on the road for going against the curfew order by the state government in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The relaxed lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states allows people the freedom of movement up until 8PM in the evening, but unfortunately as we know the Lagos traffic is not a respecter of anyone and had its own victims at the end of 8pm.
These motorists were essentially stuck on the road as the roads were closed after 8pm in accordance to the government order.
It would be recalled that earlier on, a total lockdown was deployed in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja, being the states with the most Covid-19 cases but it was later relaxed to enable people fend for themselves and earn a living. There were rules attached to the relaxation and one of them includes curfew from 8pm to 6am daily.
