Peter Obi has officially announced former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
The declaration was made on Saturday, May 30, 2026, during the special national convention of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), shortly after Obi emerged as the party’s consensus presidential candidate.
The announcement followed the NDC’s presidential primary, where Obi emerged as the party’s flagbearer.
