The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Monday while briefing journalists.

He said the operation followed a credible tip-off received on Saturday, prompting swift police intervention.

Officers from the Command raided the premises and arrested the suspected operator of the facility, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent.

Two accomplices: Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18 were also taken into custody.

During the raid, the police rescued seven adult women and three children believed to have been held against their will.

The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), while the rescued children were named Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

All rescued individuals are currently receiving care and support as investigations continue.

According to Hundeyin, preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspects had abducted their victims from various parts of Lagos with the intention of operating an illegal child trafficking ring.

He added that further investigations were ongoing and that the suspects will face prosecution in due course.

In a broader security update, Hundeyin reported that the police had arrested 39 individuals across the state over the past two weeks for a range of offences, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, child theft, vandalism, and illegal possession of firearms and drugs.

In a separate incident, officers from the Command rescued two kidnap victims in the Igbe Alagemo community of Ijede, Ikorodu, following a violent attack by armed assailants on March 26, 2025.

Hundeyin explained that the attackers stormed the neighbourhood at night, fatally shot a guard dog, and abducted a 40-year-old man identified as Dare from his home. The gang then proceeded to a nearby residence, where they forcefully took 25-year-old Rodiat.

Following a distress call received around 9 p.m. on the night of the incident, the police launched a coordinated operation alongside local security teams.

The victims were safely rescued three days later at approximately 11:56 p.m. on March 29.

The victims have since been reunited with their families, while security has been reinforced in the area to prevent further incidents.
