The National President of the Youth Council Of Pan Yoruba Socio Cultural Group, Afenifere, Eniola Ojajuni who was abducted along Kogi–Abuja highway has been released after 12 days in kidnappers’ den.
Ojajuni confirmed this himself in a short clip that was posted on X.
“I have been released,” he said while being driven in a car.
“I was released in Ibilo, Edo State. I was released this evening.”
Ojajuni was kidnapped on Monday, 17 February 2025, on his way to Abuja for a meeting.
His abductors demanded N100 million and two tricycles as ransom for his release.
On Wednesday, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, to secure Olajuni’s safe release.
Before then, a video went viral showing Ojajuni at gunpoint, pleading for Nigerians to come to his aid and raise funds for his release.
