Victims of Port-Harcourt Helicopter crash have finally been identified. Recall that a helicopter flying from Port Harcourt to an oil rig crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.
The Sikorsky SK76, with eight passengers aboard, was en route to the NUIMANTAN oil rig when it went down near Bonny Finima waters.
Three bodies have been recovered, and search operations are still underway to locate the five remaining passengers.
No distress signals were picked up, but emergency teams, military, and low-flying aircraft are combing the area.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has initiated an investigation into the crash.
