The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday said the former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, is currently not a member of the party.
The party said on three different occasions it had reported to the national secretariat that the former minister is giving the party distractions, saying they are waiting for the decision of the party on his status.
APC therefore warned its members in Osun to ignore the alleged membership registration going on in the state, because it is unknown to the party.
Former governor Aregbesola had directed membership registration of its caucus, The Omoluabi Progressives (TOP) and this has created confusion within the party.
However, in a communiqué issued after the party’s stakeholders’ meeting in Osogbo yesterday, APC Chairman in the state, Tajudeen Lawal, urged members of the party to ignore the purported membership registration because it is unknown to the party. The communiqué reads in part;
“The meeting also clarified that the party has not started any membership registration in the state and any form of registration on behalf of the party is unknown to any organ of the party therefore, party members should ignore such registration in whatever form.
