SOME people accuse me of tribalism because I referred to some who are senseless but they boldly call me a Yoruba bigot, threaten my life, attempt to bring my group down. I suppose they have the permission to be tribalistic.
Some of these people who mostly do not support NCDC, United Nations or WHO campaigns on Covid-19 suddenly found the official pages of videos I appeared to express their displeasure at seeing my face behind a positive message. The hate is right in you. The hate is seated in you. As a matter of fact, YOU ARE THE HATE!
You don’t mind destroying something good as long as it’s not Suzan Ade Coker there. Oh as many have said, if men were gods! Calling for my contract to be cancelled! Ignorance! I have news for you, There was NO contract. There was NO ambassadorial deal. There was NO branding. It was my voice that I put behind the message. It was my social media presence that I put behind the campaign. It was myself that I put behind NCDC in the fightt against the coronavirus. I was doing my part as a woman of Nigerian origin. It was me doing the little I could do at this time. Knowing that I am blessed with being listened to. Knowing that for some weird reasons I seem to get attention. This was why I supported the United Nations Nigeria and World Health Organisation and NCDC in the fight against Covid-19! No, I was not paid for the campaign. No dime was paid not even a taxi fare. No dime was asked for either. It was my support and my contribution to humanity. Yet I am the one many feel is unworthy of being a face of a brand.
Oh you do not understand. Oh no you have no idea what is in stock for me. You may have gotten the video being pulled down but you will not stop my campaign against Covid-19 because I am not doing it for anyone, I am doing it for humanity and I will do everything within my power to continue to contribute to humanity. So help me GOD!
I apologize to the United Nations Nigeria, World Health Organisation Nigeria and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for any inconvenience this unfortunate incidence has caused your reputable organisations. Though I no longer share messages directly from your platforms, I shall continue to share and spread these messages with my followers and as many as I able to reach. I am dedicated to using all my platforms for the good of my beloved country, Nigeria and the world at large especially during these trying times of the #COVID19 pandemy.
Lastly, to those who misread or misunderstood my words either deliberately or otherwise, I would like to say again that I did not refer to an entire tribe. I referred to some who have prior to this time constantly abused, bullied threatened and more for week!. No woman enjoys being put down on the basis of her gender or even be threatened of rape which are some of the senseless actions of the group I refrenced. While I cannot strip them of their tribal identity, I will never see them as sensible regardless of their tribe or ethnicity.
My commitment to humanity and the need for women not to be bullied into silence remain unwavering in the face of systematic and and calculated mob bullying.
