The Inspector General of Police( IGP), Usman Baba, and 37 Commissioners of Police across 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory are currently holding a strategic meeting behind closed doors.
The security meeting, ongoing at the Force Headquarters, which is being attended by CPs, Assistant Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, and other top-ranked police officers, centers on the forthcoming elections and the general security situations in the country.
The major focus of the meeting is election security towards the 2023 general elections, and an improvement on the security architecture of the country, to checkmate criminals and nip criminal activities in the bud.
Although, the agenda of the meeting was yet to be made public but it was gathered that the meeting was convened by the top cop following a series of attacks on INEC offices in the country particularly in the South East.
