EFCC Detains Former Skye Bank Chairman Tunde Ayeni Over Alleged ₦36bn, $30m Fraud

Former Speaker of the house of representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba has said Nigerians have lost confidence in the present administration.

Na’Abba who aired his views on the present sorry state of Nigeria as a guest on ChannelsTV morning magazine programme (Sunrise Daily) opined that the country is presently at this sorry stage because politicians are aloof from the governed.

Speaking further, Na’Abba opined that the present crop of Nigerian political leaders are not in government for the populace but for themselves.

Whilst speaking on the new third force being espoused by a crop of opinion leaders in the country under the aegis of the National Consultative Front, the former speaker said the main thrust of the group is to re-orientate the country’s political system in a way that it can deliver dividends of democracy to the Nigerian masses.

He also added that the current upsurge in cases of banditry, kidnappings and general breakdown in law and order in the country are as a result of recruiting the ‘wrong set people in the political space in the country, people put whoever they like in power….we have virtually lost this democracy.
