The death has been announced of the first civilian governor of Lagos state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande. He died at 91.
The Elderstateman’s death was confirmed by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his Twitter handle.
Baba Kekere as he was fondly called, died in the early hours of Thursday.
He served as Lagos State Governor between Oct 1st 1979 and Dec 31st 1983.
