One week after innocent peaceful #EndSars protesters were shot dead by some military men in Lekki, Lagos, Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has cried out to the government, not to allow the sad incident be swept under the carpet like Nigerian Army “covered up” the reported killing of 347 Shi’ites in Zaria, Kaduna state, in 2015.

The Senior advocate made this known while speaking at a virtual #EndSARS meeting organized by Omoyele Sowore, CEO of Sahara Reporters, on the 28th of October.

According to Femi Falana who is totally against soldiers’ presence at the protest venue, family members of victims of #LekkiMassacre have refused to speak about the incident because of the environment under which the country operates. Adding that the military is “known for lies and deception”, and that there must be justice for the victims of Lekki shooting.

Falana revealed that the bodies of Zaria victims of the above instance were taken away in the dead of the night and given a mass burial.

“Who has come up in the case of Zaria? Because you must understand the environment under which we operate”, he questioned.
