“I truly love my dad”- Ooni’s daughter, Princess Adeola Ogunwusi Re-affirms Love For Father
Contrary to claim by Omolara Olatunbosun, mother to Princess Adeola Ogunwusi that Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was an absentee father to their daughter, the Princess has come out publicly to counter her mum, affirming that she truly loves her dad with all due respects.
She describes the Ooni as not just a dad, but also a friend that listens and really cares.
In her post on Instagram handle, adeola_oguns, Adeola said: “Kabiyesi, I am who I am today because of you.” Kabiyesi, I don’t think I can ever forget to get used to the way you carry my matter on your head… the pride in your eyes whenever you talk about me; it is always my daughter this , my daughter that. Wahala for who no get daughter o!”
” Kabiyesi, I am who I am today because of you…the love and admiration you constantly shower on me has made me into this kind and thoughtful young woman. Thank you for being who you are, you are forever generous and loving . I love you today, tomorrow and forever.”
But the Princess’ mum, Omolara Olatubosun, who repeatedly glosses over Ooni’s constant reference to his daughter as the apple of his eye whom he raised as a single father, could not take any of that.
She maintains that the truth remains that the monarch was an absentee father, describing his claim of a loving father as mendacious and having no basis in fact, but has gone on for too long.
“I was, in fact, the single parent. He was, until our daughter was old enough, an absentee father.”
Omolara who said she gave birth to Adeola as a result of a teenage relationship with Oba Ogunwusi, described his claim that he fathered her daughter as a “single father as a lie struggling for tap root, noting: “unfortunately, a lie goes a long way around the world before the truth gets a chance to tie its shoes. So, this is my attempt at correcting the record.
“I want to put it on record now in public that there’s not an iota of truth to that claim, and I challenge him to prove me wrong.
“I repeat, Yeye Ogunwusi was never present in Adeola’s life for the first 10 years of her growing up which makes the “single father” narrative shocking, annoying and disrespectful to hear by all who know the truth of the story.
“I, Omolara, took care of my daughter physically, financially and emotionally, with the moral support of my mother and siblings. I was a pregnant teen, but he was nowhere to be found, and I bore the responsibilities for our child, and paid the physical and social cost of raising her alone in my mom’s house,” she maintained in a statement, weekend.

Hilda Baci Aims For New Record With The World’s Biggest Pot Of Jollof
Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has revealed that she will use 250 bags of rice in her bid to cook what would become the world’s biggest pot of jollof rice.
Baci, who set the global record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, shared the details in a video uploaded on Instagram on Monday, while analysing the scale of the project, which has generated widespread curiosity.
She explained that the giant pot designed for the feat has a volume of 22,619 litres, adding that her target was to fill it up to 80 per cent.
“My goal is to fill this pot up by at least 75 to 80 per cent.
“That means I will need about 5,278 kilogrammes of raw basmati rice to achieve the yield,” she said.
According to her, the calculation translates to 264 bags of rice, but she had made a strategic adjustment.
“I am making the executive decision to do 250 bags,” Baci stated.
On condiments, she disclosed that the cooking would require 1,583 kilogrammes of tomato paste.
“For one kg of rice, you would need between 0.20 to 0.35, but because it’s Nigerian jollof, I’m going to use 0.30.
“That means I will need 1,583 kilogrammes of Gino tomato paste,” she said.
Baci added that the tomato base would be shared evenly across tomato paste, pepper chicken paste and jollof paste to make the “most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted.”

EFCC Invites Okoya’s Sons Over ‘Abuse Of Naira’ In Viral Video
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has invited Subomi and Wahab, the sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, for interrogation over alleged abuse of the naira.
In the invite signed by Michael Wetkas, acting director of the Lagos directorate of the EFCC, the anti-graft agency directed the duo to report to the head, special operations team at the 15A Awolowo Road office of the commission by 10am on Monday, January 13, 2025.
The Okoya brothers have been in the news for “abusing the naira” in a promotional video for a new song.
The video — which featured a police officer holding wads of N1,000 notes as the boys encircled to a tune — had elicited outrage on social media.
On January 10, Muyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), announced that the officer seen in the video had been arrested and detained.
He said the officer’s actions were unethical, adding that he would face disciplinary action.
“The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the Lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action,” Adejobi wrote on X.
“The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police.”
In 2024, the EFCC ramped up its enforcement of naira abuse by celebritries, citing Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act.
On April 4, Bobrisky, the social media celebrity, was arrested by the commission in Lagos for defacing naira notes.
The crossdresser was arraigned on a six-count charge by the EFCC.
